Financial Year end, conference, & birthday celebrations (yes, a LOT of em) halted my blog update for quite a while..I apologize to those (if any) that followed & waited for my next update since the last one. Here you go..
Once upon a time..in a cloudy & misty hill…unknown to many…comes a greenery land, namely Mossy Forest.
I’ve got to said that I’m very delighted to have the chance to witnessed the awesomeness of this place before my own eyes..(finally!). But this cannot be done without the invitation from one of our running buddy, Mr. Vincent (organizer) & guide from the rest of the team. We kicked off our journey at 0630, had some light breakfast & then proceed to Brinchang by car. The road to Mount Irau (entrance) was both thrilling & adventurous simply because we’ve to go through a very narrow road surrounded by tea plantation.
Good weather, good view, good condition of road before the real challenge’s come.
‘Happy Feet’ group photo at the foot of Mount Irau.
So, we begun our journey into the mysterious land approximately at 10am
One could actually feels the incredible atmosphere without going through the very muddy trail. There are stairs & railings along the way before the muddy route if you’re not an adventurous type of people. But.. you’ll definitely miss out a lot 😉
Wedding photo shoot ❤
BE WARNED: The trail is all & very muddy no matter when you go. If you’re a neat freak, good luck to you.
Thanks for the kind climate up here, makes our trekking less fatiguing.
Kind weather but not so kind route :D. Prepare to use both your hand a lot & you might need a pair of glove. The good news is, there’s no torn on all the trees!
Ready your camera, & prepared to be awed by the forest!
The moss are really impressive! Picture doesn’t do this place justice! You’ve to see it before your eyes!
I doesn’t keep track of time, but eventually after quite a while of stretching & crawling, we’ve reach Mini Irau!
The first check point for many & the peak of Mini Irau if you don’t plan to go further.
The real challenges starts here! The route is more steep, & certainly, more obstacles.
We used to trekking, but this gives the feel of hiking & it wasn’t an easy one.
Of course, the farther & upper you go, the feeling was getting more divine.
Foggy, giant trunks with thick mossy really gives you a feel of entering into a mysterious wonderland..
One of the major obstacles we faced was, it’s very slippery. Many of your team members (including me) fell down but luckily nothing serious. Always be in a group as some path may be a lil difficult for one to goes up or down, hence, you’ll need a helping hand.
These are my motivations to the peak! We’re almost there!
and..We reached the peak! However, the view from above is a lil disappointing to be honest, but the weather & all the giant trunks & greenery moss made up for it. Total time go up & return was around 7+ hours, not more than 8. From what I heard the usual time is around 8 hours, 2 ways. I wouldn’t said this is easy just because I’m done with it, but it wasn’t as difficult as some would’ve imagined. Of course you’ve to be physically & mentally (this is important) prepared especially when it comes to hiking just because you can’t just simply stop half way.
A few things that made our expedition less hassle that you should consider:
1) Good team lead & members
– Our team consist of 50 members. Some of them are very experienced lad who lead us from start to finish. This is VERY IMPORTANT! I wouldn’t go up there without an experienced lead to be honest although you’ll be meeting people going up & down especially during a peak season.
2) Cooperation
– Some of us was first timer but teamwork wins. Follow the lead & you’ll be fine.
3) Food & Water Supply (bring extra water)
– I don’t know bout others, but I barely ate when I was up there. Only a slice of bread. I drank a lotsa water thou. Also, bring extra water to clean yourselves up because it’s gonna gets very messy! Aha~! 😀
Lastly, bravo to all who made it to the peak! *Claps* I may not knowing each & everyone of you, but we all did a great job. A special thanks to those who spare me & my girl water, lead us & gives us advice. Let’s have another expedition soon! 😀
